Rallies don’t need to resort to violence

The ugly demonstrations and protests by some DPP members against ARATS chairman Chen Yunlin’s visit only prove once again that their party will not miss out on a chance to get full media coverage as a prelude to vote canvassing.

We can only shake our heads haplessly.

This is a democratic society, and the DPP has every right to organize mass rallies to air their grievances. But what about OUR rights to law and order?

We, the silent majority, have had enough of their posturing! A rally can be civil, and one can still have one’s voice heard without having to resort to fist-fights and clashes. Therefore, we truly do not understand why we condone the mob-like actions of a tiny fraction of the population, and tolerate it when they cause agitation and create public strife.
