U.S. is the strongest country in the world, only militarily

This is in response to T. Swarm’s letter (The China Post, June 1) commenting on my article on Diane Lee’s U.S. citizenship.

I believe, as most people do, loyalty and honesty are the most important of all virtues. When a person pledges allegiance to more than one country, he (she) is faithfully loyal to none. When any government “officially” accepts “due citizenship,” that means it makes fun of its own “oath taking” ceremony, or in other words, it cheats itself in believing the person’s loyalty. If that is what the United States wants, it is none of other’s business.

Secondly, if my previous article “is stretching it quite a bit,” T. Swam’s criticism “stretched” my points even more. Does it need “martial law” to find out Diane Lee’s citizenship of the Republic of China (ROC)? That she was sworn in to become a ROC legislator was on public record. Besides, her using a non-immigrant visa to enter the U.S. was no secret, at least to U.S.immigration officials.

In view of the lack of sound American immigration laws and the complete missing of my points in my recent commentaries by several American readers in their “letters to the editor,” I cannot but say: the United States is the strongest country in the world, “only militarily.”
