7 killed over dispute with neighbors in central China village: state media

BEIJING -- A Chinese state news agency says a man stabbed seven people to death in a village in a central province.

The China News Service said the attack occurred at 4 a.m. Wednesday in the county of Lushan in Henan province. It says the attacker was captured.

The report says the attack was prompted by disputes with neighbors but gave no details.

China's countryside is rife with disputes over land, business dealings and other issues. Attacks involving knives, rat poison and other weapons are reported regularly.

On Tuesday, the government of the city of Macheng in the central province of Hubei said a man attacked first- and second-graders at a school, injuring eight children.
