Despite protest, Dutch MPs to meet Dalai Lama

THE HAGUE -- Dutch MPs will host Tibet's exiled spiritual leader the Dalai Lama for a meeting in June despite a letter of protest from the Chinese ambassador, a parliament spokeswoman said Thursday. “The foreign affairs committee (of the house of representatives) has decided to keep its appointment for a public meeting with the Dalai Lama,” Annemieke van Willigen told AFP.
