13-year-old swallows coin while watching magician

A 13-year-old boy trying to imitate Taiwanese magician Liu Qian during a television program, nearly died after he swallowed a coin.

The boy was watching the program at home in Shantou, a coastal city in eastern part of Guangdong province, on Thursday. He was rushed to the hospital where doctors had to operate to remove the coin.

His father said the child is a big fan of Liu.
