Updated Wednesday, November 18, 2009 10:57 am TWN, dpa Cathay Pacific offering extra legroom for US$100 moreStarting December 1, passengers on all flights can pay US$25 for extra legroom seats on regional flights and flights to China or US$100 for long-haul flights. The airline said in a statement there was always strong demand for seats with extra legroom and that the move was in line with practices by other major international airlines. Cathay Pacific director of sales and marketing James Barrington said: “Those passengers who particularly value extra legroom will now be able to book those seats and enjoy a more comfortable journey simply by making an additional payment. At the same time, we will continue to reward our most loyal customers by offering them the extra-legroom seat option free of charge.” Cathay Pacific is one of the world's biggest airlines, carrying around 23 million passengers and 1.6 million tons of cargo each year.
