WindPower profit almost doubles on China use

HONG KONG -- China WindPower Group Ltd., a Hong Kong-traded renewable energy company, said first-half profit almost doubled on increased use of the cleaner form of power on the mainland.

Net income rose to HK$106.9 million (US$13.8 million), or 1.56 Hong Kong cents a share, in the six months ended September, from HK$53.9 million, or 0.9 Hong Kong cent a share, a year earlier, China WindPower said.
