Vestas Wind lands another large Chinese wind turbine contracts“Vestas has received another two orders with a total capacity of 100 MW to be delivered to two wind power projects in China,” the Danish company said in a statement. “Delivery of the turbines for both projects is planned for the third quarter of 2009,” it said, adding that its customers had requested that it not disclose details about the projects' owners or locations. The announcement came two days after Vestas said it had received its eighth contract in the past year from China Guangdong Nuclear Wind Power for the delivery of 116 wind turbines, also with a total capacity of 100 MW. That order, also to be delivered in the third quarter of 2009, brought to 500 MW the amount of wind energy capacity Vestas will deliver to the Chinese firm. “As of June 30 2008, Vestas had delivered more than 1,000 turbines to China and we continue to have high expectations for the growing Chinese market,” Lars Andersen, who heads up Vestas's China division, said in the statement. Vestas, which did not divulge the value of any of the contracts, said the orders would not affect its 2008-2009 earnings outlook. | |||||||||||||
