Global ICT firms bullish over economic prospects

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- Global information and communication technology (ICT) companies had an overall more optimistic outlook for the third quarter of the year than the previous quarter, according to the results of a survey released Friday.

Both the Computex Exhibitor Index and the Computex Buyer Index were up for July September, increasing 0.17 points and 0.34 points to to 1.87 and 2.27, respectively, the Taipei Computer Association said.

A reading above 2 indicates optimism, while any figure under 1.5 indicates a negative outlook.
