Chile's LAN to ground its Dreamliners for time being

SANTIAGO -- Chile's LAN Airlines said Wednesday it was temporarily grounding its three Boeing Dreamliners following a recommendation by U.S. regulators.

“In compliance with the recommendation of the Federal Aviation Administration of the United States (FAA) and in coordination with the Chilean Aeronautical Authority (DGAC), LAN announces that it will temporarily suspend the operation of its three Boeing 787 aircraft,” the company said in a statement.

In its statement, LAN said flights due to be operated by its 787 fleet would be temporarily replaced by other aircraft to limit the impact on passengers and cargo clients.
