Shin Kong Mitsukoshi ended 2012 with sales below its target: official

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Department Store yesterday reported sales of NT$75 billion last year, about 2 percent less than the firm's goal.

“Sales were more disastrous during the first half last year, in which we had negative growth of five percent,” said Chou Pao-wen, deputy manager of the retail chain. “Yet things picked up in the second half.”

As for this year, sales are expected to grow, Chou said.
