September 4, 2012, 5:51 pm TWN The country's electronics retail stores and the top three carriers, including Chunghwa Telecom Co., Taiwan Mobile Co. and Far EasTone Telecommunications Co., started taking pre-orders for the 7-inch gadget on the day, Asustek said in a statement. The 16GB model will be priced at NT$8,990 (US$301) in Taiwan, the company said, without giving any specifics on a launch date or a sale plan for the 8GB model. At an investors' conference on Aug. 29, Asustek CEO Jerry Shen explained that the Nexus 7 will be priced higher in some European and Asian countries than in the United States because a consumption tax is included. |
