CEO of Deutsche Post DHL visits, meets chairman of Chunghwa Post

Frank Appel, CEO of Deutsche Post DHL, made his first visit to Taiwan July 18 to 20. His short visit was tightly packed with inspections on local operation facilities and services, as well as meetings with senior management, employees, customers and government officials.

Representing Deutsche Post DHL, the world's leading postal and logistics service provider, Appel had arranged an exclusive meeting with Chunghwa Post Chairman Oliver Yu on July 19 to exchange valuable opinions on the postal business.

The two leaders from DPDHL and Chunghwa Post, the two postal service providers in Germany and Taiwan, discussed some of the possible areas where they may cooperate in the future.

Having a history that dates back more than 500 years, Deutsche Post is the world's most successful postal service provider. During their conversation, Appel shared with Yu the ongoing developments in the worldwide postal industry. Both parties look forward to collaboration in post and express services where both can benefit from improving service levels for customers and finding cost synergies.

DHL has operated in Taiwan for nearly 40 years and the exchange of successful experiences with Chunghwa Post chairman had provided DHL a further insight to the dynamics of the local market, thereby allowing DHL to offer services more precisely tuned for the customers' needs, showing DPDHL's global strategy of staying close to the market.
