Garuda to work with Etihad to beef up air services to Europe this yearThe Jakarta Post/Asia News Network National flag carrier Garuda Indonesia says it will strengthen its European market this year by adding a Jakarta-Amsterdam flight and entering five major cities on the continent through a code-share agreement with gulf airline Etihad Airways.
February 20, 2013, 12:26 am TWN Garuda marketing vice president Elisa Lumbantoruan said that the airline would intensify its Jakarta-Amsterdam flight via Abu Dhabi to six times from four times a week starting on June 21. The airline will also offer services to Brussels, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Milan and Munich this month. “Europe remains an important market for Garuda and we see an increasing demand from our customers to and from Europe lately. This service is an answer to the demand and we believe this market will benefit Garuda and the passengers,” Elisa told The Jakarta Post on Monday. He said that the Jakarta-Amsterdam route would be provided by Garuda Indonesia with an Airbus A330-200 with a capacity of 222 passengers while other flights would be provided by Etihad Airways through Abu Dhabi International Airport. |
