US-ASEAN summit to be held in New York, not Washington, D.C.The summit, the second to be held following the inaugural session in Singapore last year, is scheduled for Sept. 24 alongside the annual meetings of the United Nations General Assembly, according to analysts and sources. The White House has informed ASEAN leaders of the proposed date for the summit and is waiting for their feedback, said Ernest Bower, a South-east Asia expert with the Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). | |||||||||||||
