FDI soars in Poland by 75 percent during the first five months of 2010

WARSAW -- Poland's recession-bucking economy saw foreign direct investment (FDI) soar by 75 percent in the first five months of 2010 compared to the same period in 2009, amounting to 5.084 billion euros, data showed Wednesday.

“According to the data of the National Bank of Poland general inflow of foreign direct investments from January till May 2010 amounted to over five billion euros (US$6.61 billion) and was 75 percent higher in relation to the same period in 2009,” a statement by the Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency (PAIIZ) said.
