Renault’s global sales up 8.3 percent in April

PARIS -- French automaker Renault said Friday its global unit sales rose 8.3 percent from a year earlier to 228,146 vehicles in April. Renault has set a 2008 sales growth target of 10 percent for 2008.

It said its April sales in the European market, which increased 7.8 percent overall in the month, rose 3.5 percent to 147,332 vehicles with a gain of 18.5 percent to 80,824 in other markets.
