CAL to launch additional flights to New Zealand

TAIPEI -- China Airlines (CAL, 中華航空), Taiwan's largest carrier, said yesterday that it will offer flights to Christchurch in New Zealand between Dec. 1, 2014 and Feb. 28, 2015 to meet higher travel demand at that time.

The route, which will be routed through Sydney, will operate every Monday, Thursday and Saturday during the period, bringing its total number of flights to New Zealand to 11 per week.

Currently, CAL offers 14 flights to Australia per week, plus another eight flights to Auckland via Sydney or Brisbane.

The new service will use A330-300 jets that seat 307 passengers, according to CAL.
