TAIPEI, Taiwan -- The EasyCard Corporation today released the new Easy Wallet application on the Apple App Store, stating that the app will seek to bring further "ease" to the daily lives of card holders.
During a press release yesterday, representatives of the corporation stated that the application was approved first by the Android Market and was released on May 20 for Android smartphones. The Apple version of the app was released today. The app spotlights multiple features that are otherwise only available in either MRT stations or convenience stores.
The app can be synced with up to five EasyCards, either regular cards or "co-brander" cards that are associated with banks. Through the app, card holders can track the consumer records of all five cards and also check the balance on each card. The feature seeks to save the general public the trouble of needing to check their balance at convenience stores, and it also allows them to better understand their independent spending. Parents are also able to track the spending records and MRT destinations of their children for safety purposes said EasyCard Chairman Chang Chia-sheng (張家生).
Another feature installed for the convenience of the general public, said Chang, is the winning alert that will automatically cross-reference the serial numbers of electronic receipts with the Taiwanese receipt lottery. The winnings alert will also notify card holders on the special EasyCard consumer deals that are available at their most frequent EasyCard-cooperating stores. The special deals can be shared online via social media with friends and family, said a corporation representative.
Chang went on to state that should a card that has been synced with the app go missing, a phone report to the EasyCard Company will absorb all the charges in the three hours following the report.
One important factor to remember, said a representative, is that the balance-checking and consumer records tracking features are not always instant, as the systems adopted in convenience stores are only synced with the EasyCard systems after daily calculations are complete.
