TAIPEI, Taiwan -- Google announced its partnership with MiTAC Information Technology Corp (神通資訊科技) yesterday to launch its flagship service Google Cloud Platform.
MiTAC has worked with Google over the past year to provide enterprise-level products and services, such as Google Apps for Business, Google Search Appliance, Google Maps and Earth Enterprise. They have been broadly applied in the government, technology and finance sectors.
MiTAC is Google's cloud technology strategic partner in the Asia-Pacific region, as the search giant is acquainted with MiTAC's value-added system integration ability, said MiTAC President Simon Chiang, adding that the company plans to offer a full range of cloud services in the future.
With its robust data center and web resources, the Google Cloud Platform allows developers and enterprises to establish and manage complex systems so that they can create highly efficient and expandable application systems in a short period of time.
Companies may also utilize tools in the Cloud platform to conduct big data analysis, extracting useful information to make strategic decisions for business growth.
MiTAC created MiCloud three years ago, providing a stable and flexible cloud platform that may be quickly employed. Google introduced Google Cloud to local businesses last year, facilitating group collaboration and "business transformation." MiCloud and Google Cloud were seamlessly integrated by MiTAC's software team this year, providing better cloud services for the business world.
In the future, MiTAC will continue its vertical and parallel integration efforts to make MiCloud into a cloud portal. MiCloud currently has roughly 5,000 small- and medium-size enterprise customers.
