CTBC Holding honors staff, clients at 48th anniversary event

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- CTBC Financial Holding Co. Ltd. (CTBC Holding) yesterday celebrated the 48th anniversary of the firm at 147 branches nationwide while commemorating the late founder Jeffrey Koo Sr. (辜濂松) and appreciating the ongoing support of clients.

Thomas KS Chen (陳國世), the vice chairman of CTBC Bank, led fellow staff and children in a performance of the happy birthday song and shared baked goods with clients and employees to spread the joy of the anniversary celebrations.

According to CTBC Holding, 48 years ago there were only 19 employees working in a 120-ping office in Taipei City, but now the firm has matured into a financial holding company with 68 international offices, 147 branches and over 13,000 employees.

Chen said that CTBC Holding's accomplishments were the result of employees' hard work under the late Chairman Koo's principles: honest operation and team work.

Also, without the long-term support of a large number of clients, Chen added, CTBC Holding would not have been able to achieve all that it has, especially within the challenging, highly competitive and ever-changing environment of the financial sector.

"Everyone reaches their peak in life when they are 50 years old, and it is the same for a corporation," said Chen.

Even though the anniversary celebration will be the last celebration held in the current headquarters of CTBC Holding before the firm moves to a new location, Chen said. The move symbolizes CTBC Holding reaching yet another peak.

Cheng Tai-ko, an employee who has been working at CTBC Holding for almost 38 years, said that every time the company moves to a new location, it always represents a good start for the company.
