Namchow Group profits increase 30% year-on-year to NT$103 mil.

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- Propelled by stellar results from its Thailand-based operations, the Namchow Group (南橋) is poised to post record high profits in 2013.

Now in its 23rd year, reports indicate that the group's Thailand-based operations represent a 13-percent component of overall sales. In addition, sales in Thailand for the business group this year improved 30 percent year-on-year, with profits reaching NT$103 million as of the end of the third quarter, up 50 percent from the previous year.

Overall the business group has accumulated revenues of NT$12.198 billion, up 11.73 percent year-on-year, with after-tax profits reaching NT$790 million, generating earnings of NT$2.54 per share, based on the business group's NT$2.941 billion capitalization.

Currently the business group's operations spans several sector, including its numerous restaurant chains in Taiwan and China, its snack foods business and its cooking oil business unit in China.

Reports indicate that the group's restaurant chain has generated revenues of NT$2 billion this year. Contribution from the group's restaurant chains are expected to represent 16 percent of 2013 revenues and continue growing at a double-digit pace next year, according to reports.
