Chunghwa Telecom included in DJSI index
The China Post news staffTAIPEI, Taiwan -- Chunghwa Telecom Co. (CHT) has been included in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI-World) for the company's outstanding performance and sustainable development.

There were only 10 telecommunications services among the world's top enterprises included in the DJSI World following the latest assessment of 2013.
CHT became the only company in the sector in Asia that has been included in DJSI World index.
The telecom giant based in Taipei is actually honored for the rare feat of being included into both of the DJSI-World and DJSI-Emerging Markets jointly launched and managed by RobecoSAM and S&P Dow Jones Indices.
Leading world companies were selected for the index systems in terms of strict economic, environmental and social criteria.
CHT won the impeccable and top ratings in the evaluation for the three index categories of risk and crisis management, environment policies, and human capital development.
Lee Yen-sung, chairman of CHT, said the double corporate memberships for both the DJSI-World and DJSI-Emerging Markets show that the relentless efforts of the company and staff concerning sustainable development and social responsibility have won recognition and endorsement from global institutional investors.
He stressed that CHT will continue striving for further progress to achieve the position as a model global enterprise in diversified services covering telecom, info and communications tech, digital converging, added-value, and cloud computing services.
