New Gigabyte tablet hits shelves in Nepal

According to the company which recently acquired the dealership for Gigabyte products, the main distinction of this device is that it is equipped with Windows 7 Professional Operating System (OS). This marks a clear difference between the S1081 and other devices available in the market today. Another advantageous feature of this device is that users can make phone calls as it features a SIM card slot.
“Most tablet computers available in the market today have Android OS. This device will cater to the demand of people who are looking for something fresh in a tablet computer,” said Ganesh Karna, product manager at Neoteric Nepal. Moreover, the device is powered by the latest Intel Atom dual-core processor that features a high-performance and low-power consumption design. It has a 1.8 GHz CPU, 2 GB RAM and 320 GB hard disk and weighs 790 gm.
According to Karna, the newest offering from Gigabyte has a huge potentiality in the domestic market as tablet computers are becoming more and more popular. “The future market is of tablets, and thus we have come up with this model to make sure that we secure a good position in this competitive market,” Karna said. Likewise, the device boasts a 10.1 inch capacitive multitouch LED backlit display that produces crisp images. The multi-touch display, according to Neoteric Nepal, produces a remarkable touch experience that is perfect for making presentations, accomplishing business tasks, viewing media and playing games.
The tablet also possesses hot keys that are designed to make operating it fun and easy. Users can simply press the keyboard icons to bring out a virtual keyboard or handwriting feature. To scroll the page, there are up and down buttons making it convenient to surf the web, read documents and view pictures. There is also a back button that can be used to return to the previous page.
The s1081 is equipped with numerous I/O ports that have enhanced the connectivity option in this device. The USB ports, according to the company make it easy to hook up useful peripheral devices, and the USB 3.0 connection provides fast data transfer with speeds up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0. According to Karna, the device is likely to cater to the demand of corporate clients and executives. Neoteric Nepal has priced it at 54,500 rupees and has made it available throughout the country through its wide network.
