TWSE names Grand Cathay most profitable securities firm in October

The brokerage house led the pack with an October net profit of NT$468 million, followed by the NT$251 millon for Yuanta Securities, Taiwan's largest securities firm. Capital Securities took the No. 3 position, with October net profit of NT$160 million.

According to the Taiwan Stock Exchange, of the 85 securities firms traded on the local bourse, 59 were profitable in October, and 26 posted losses.

Overall, securities firms posted a total profit of NT$1.922 billion in October, up from a loss of NT$2.67 billion in September, the stock exchange said.
