Mazda reduces quarterly loss to US$24 mil. on sales growth

TOKYO -- Mazda reduced its losses last quarter on sales growth in North America, China and Thailand, the latest in recovery tales from Japanese automakers.

Mazda Motor Corp. reported Friday a 2.1 billion yen (US$24 million) loss for April-to-June, shrinking its red ink from 21.5 billion yen (US$250 million) the previous year.
