FRANKFURT -- German energy company E.On AG says its 2009 net income rose sharply to 8.4 billion euros (US$11.4 billion) partly as a result of the disposal of some assets. The Duesseldorf-based company earned 1.3 billion euros in 2008.
Revenue during 2009 fell 6 percent to 82 billion euros from 87 billion euros in 2008.
