Meanwhile, Jenny Chen, executive cultural officer of Trend Micro, announced that her company will collaborate with National Taiwan University (NTU) to offer a cloud computing curriculum to NTU students. Trend Micro will initially invest NT$50 million for the cloud computing talent-nurturing project, which will also include a Trend cloud computing lab to be manned by 10 lecturers from Trend Micro and 52 from NTU, according to Chen. Chen quoted International Data Corporation (IDC), a Massachusetts-based market research and analysis firm specializing in information technology, telecommunications and consumer technology, as predicting that global investment in cloud computing and relevant technology will top US$42 billion by 2012, up from US$16 billion in 2008.
