Taiwan Cement advances as Prosperity unit bought

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- Taiwan Cement Corp. gained 3.1 percent to NT$34.60 as of 9:09 a.m. in Taipei, the most since August 24, after TCC International Holdings Ltd., its Hong Kong-listed unit, agreed to buy the cement and clinker making unit from Prosperity Minerals Holdings Ltd. for HK$4 billion (US$516 million). The TAIEX index added 0.4 percent.
