bmi to cut 600 jobs, slash routes in restructuring

LONDON -- bmi airline, the British subsidiary of Germany's Lufthansa, Wednesday announced job cuts and a reduction in routes as part of a restructuring program. bmi said 600 jobs would be shed out of 4,500 and warned that further cuts could not be ruled out. The reductions would be made across the business. “The number of full-time equivalent jobs at risk of redundancy is expected to be approximately 600.
