Samsung said earlier this year it plans to sell more than 22 million LCD TVs and 4 million plasma sets. Samsung, which sold 7.73 million flat-screen TVs in the third-quarter, said last month it expects to outgrow industry shipments in the current period, driven by sales of more expensive models. Samsung forecast global flat-panel TV demand will increase about “mid-twenties” percentage in the fourth quarter from the previous three-month period.
