Updated Wednesday, November 4, 2009 11:25 am TWN, AP FRANKFURT -- Germany's Commerzbank AG said Monday that it lost nearly euro1.1 billion (US$1.6 billion) in the third quarter amid a restructuring effort and charges related to its acquisition of Dresdner Bank. The euro1.05 billion net loss for the July-September period compared with a loss of euro285 million in last year's third quarter. However, in a preliminary statement ahead of a full earnings report Nov. 5, Frankfurt-based Commerzbank said it had a third-quarter operating profit of euro120 million.
