Thai exports peak in Sept. at US$14.9 billion

BANGKOK -- Thai exports reached US$14.9 billion in September, notching up the kingdom's best trade performance all year, the Commerce Ministry announced Wednesday. September's exports were up 12.2 percent on August's, but still down 8.5 percent when compared with Thai exports a year ago. Last month's imports amounted to US$12.9 billion, up 15.4 percent compared with August but down 17.9 percent compared with imports in September, 2008.
