Thailand exports hit this year's high in August

BANGKOK -- Thailand's exports reached US$13.3 billion in August, the highest level yet this year, the Commerce Ministry said Thursday. August exports were up 2.9 percent over July's figures, but still down 18.4 percent year-on-year, Commerce Ministry Permanent Secretary Siriporn Yotmuangcharoen said. Imports reached US$11.2 billion, down 8.2 percent compared with July and a 32.6-per-cent decline year-on-year.
