Malaysia's Perodua expects to sell 188,000 cars locally this yearAP KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia -- Compact carmaker Perodua says it is on track to sell 188,000 vehicles in Malaysia this year to retain its leadership of the domestic auto market for the seventh-straight year.
July 19, 2012, 11:27 am TWN Managing Director Aminar Rashid says Perodua sold 93,000 vehicles in the first six months and aims to sell 95,100 vehicles in the second half of the year. He says this will give Perodua, which is partly owned by Daihatsu Motor Corp., a 31-percent share of the domestic market. Last year, Perodua sold 180,000 cars. |
