Samsung plans US$1.4 bil. semiconductor line upgrade

SEOUL -- Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., the world’s largest memory chip maker, said Friday it will spend 1.35 trillion won (US$1.37 billion) to upgrade semiconductor lines in 2008.

It told the Korea Exchange in a filing that the investment was decided at a board meeting.
