Japanese budget airline Peach Aviation launches service in Taiwan with fanfareCNA TAIPEI -- Peach Aviation, a low-cost carrier based in Japan, began operations in Taiwan yesterday with services between Osaka and Taipei that were greeted with plenty of fanfare.
October 17, 2012, 5:07 pm TWN When Peach's Airbus A320 and its dreamy purple livery arrived at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport from Osaka just before 9 a.m. Tuesday morning, it was accorded a water-spraying welcome. The carrier then celebrated its maiden flight from Taiwan to Osaka by having Peach CEO Shinichi Inoue and flight attendants hand gifts to passengers as they boarded the aircraft. “Taiwan is an important market, and we've thought about operating the service for a long time,” Inoue said. |
