Indian delegation to visit Computex Taipei to explore business cooperation options

NEW DELHI -- An Indian delegation is visiting Taiwan to attend Computex Taipei 2010 and explore opportunities to cooperate with Taiwanese electronics companies as part of the Indian government's effort to boost electronics manufacturing.

The delegation that arrived in Taiwan May 21 is composed of Indian officials, business representatives in economic zones and information equipment manufactures, and is headed by Rakesh Singh, the additional secretary of India's Departmentof Information Technology.

During a six-day tour of businesses in Taiwan, the delegation visited several local technology manufacturers and research institutions to explore opportunities for technical collaboration.

The companies on its itinerary included TECO group, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., AU Optronics Corp., the Industrial Technology Research Institute and the Institute for Information Industry.
