Updated Thursday, December 3, 2009 9:39 am TWN, CNA UK tourist numbers see increase with privilegesFrom March to October, the number of Taiwanese visitors to the UK was up by 36.4 percent compared with the same period of last year, according to statistics published by the Taiwan Tourism Bureau. David Campbell, director of the BTCO, said at a tourism promotion luncheon that he was very pleased to see so many Taiwanese traveling to the UK for sightseeing, study or business. The already close connections between the UK and Taiwan and exchanges between their peoples will continue to grow, as a new air service agreement signed between the UK and Taiwan last month will allow more flights between Taipei and London in the future, according to Campbell. “In the run up to the 2012 London Olympics, I think it will be exciting to visit the UK,” said Campbell.
