Taiwan's forex reserves at record high of US$341 bil.

TAIPEI -- Taiwan's foreign exchange reserves hit a record high of US$341.22 billion at the end of October, the central bank said Friday. The figure is US$8.98 billion up from the end of September, the bank said in a statement on its Web site.

The increase came after the British pound and the euro appreciated against the greenback, while the central bank's investment return was also cited as a reason.
