Jobless urged to double up their job search efforts

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- Although the unemployment rate edged up to 5.81 percent in March, the rise is slowing, the Directorate-General of Budget, Accounting, and Statistics said.

Chen Ting-yu, director of the popular Ejob website, urged job seekers not to be too picky and focus on securing a job and upgrading their skill sets. He pointed out that those who started receiving unemployment benefits last year will soon see their benefits drying up, as the benefits only last for six months.
