7 Chinese TV-makers to come for TFT-LCD panels

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- Seven of China's major television makers will come to Taiwan in the summer to buy TFT-LCD panels, mainland media company CBN reported yesterday.

The seven companies are: Konka Group, Hisense, Skyworth, SVA-NEC, XOCECO and Xiong Mao, the report said, adding they will arrive in Taiwan on Jun. 1.

This will be the first time the seven will conduct joint procurements in Taiwan, the report said.

The paper cited a source from Konka as saying the seven will buy TFT-LCD products from AU Optronics and Chi Mei Optoelectronics, the island's two largest TFT-LCD manufacturers.
