TAIPEI, Taiwan -- The 11th Annual Meeting & Conference of APEC Financial Institutions Dealing with SMEs (APEC SMEFI) started in Taipei on Thursday, discussing ways to strengthen the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through lending and financing approaches.
The APEC SMEFI has been successfully held for the past 10 years. APEC SMEFI continues to be a forum delivering insight and solutions to complex small and medium-sized enterprises.
Taiwan Cooperative Bank Chairman Liao Tsan-chang and Taiwan Business Bank Acting Chairman Huang Tien-chang said they are honored to represent Taiwan in jointly organizing the 11th APEC SMEFI at the Grand Hyatt Taipei from July 16-18.
Laio and Huang contended that the APEC SMEFI is not only an annual event aiming to provide sustained support to SME growth in the Asia-Pacific region, but it is also a platform for selected financial institutions to communicate about SME financing expertise and collaborate on settling SME financing challenges.
The theme of the 11th APEC SMEFI is "Engaging with SME Financing & Supporting Innovation." Distinguished bankers and special guests from 11 world economies will discuss ways to solve SME financing barriers and explore lending approaches to strengthen SME growth.
