Product design, R&D and some other divisions will continue to operate in the Hsinchu Science Park facility in Taiwan, the company said in a statement.
The Westlake Village, California-based company, which acquired Taiwanese fabless analog chip maker Anachip Corp. in January 2006, has its Asian operations in Taiwan and Shanghai.
Its chips are used in a wide array of consumer devices such as digital audio players, notebook computers and mobile handsets.
