Updated Tuesday, August 5, 2008 0:00 am TWN, The China Post news staff Computer App. Show ends with great successRepresentatives noted that yesterday’s closing time was pushed back to 7:00 p.m. to accommodate the high public demand, adding that the best-selling products were small-sized laptops, along with products from the bigger brands, including Sony, HP, Lenovo, Acer, and Asus. Other computers, such as the EeePC and Acer’s Aspire One, were also in high demand. Lin Hsien-lang, Acer’s Taiwan general manager, stated that all of the Aspire One on display have been sold out, and over 7,000 units have already been ordered. Lin Fu-neng, vice-president of sales for Asus, expressed the success of the show, citing on Sunday that three Asus laptops — two Eee PC and one regular notebook — were sold each minute. Lin added that NT$100 million have been made in two days. Lin further attributed the increasing demand of LCD TV, especially those of 32 inches and 37 inches, to the upcoming Beijing Olympics, stating that people have been changing their TVs to get the best Olympic experience come this Friday.
