Test results showed that five out of them exceeded limits of measurement of radio disturbance characteristics, including A-DATA D0801, AboCom PF0725, HP df750, cenOmax F701, and Chi Lin ST-PF07D1. Wang Cheng-hui, deputy director of the BSMI, said in a press conference. Of those five, the first two did not even apply for product inspections before entering the market, he added. Passing the BSMI test were ASUS UF735, Mustek PF-A700A, FunTwist iFrame 713, AG NEOVO V-10, and HiTi K65. Excessive electromagnetic interference may lead to fussy signals in TV sets and computers but cause no damage to the human body, Wang added. Wang said that the BSMI will revoke certification of the products which failed the radio disturbance standards in accordance with the Commodity Inspection Act, while those failed manufacturers found without inspection records will be fined a minimum of NT$250,000. The BSMI urged consumers to choose CNS-certified products with clear specifications while purchasing digital picture frames. Moreover, consumers are advised to read instructions carefully prior to use, Wang added. |
