Weiss announced during the event that Siemens Limited Taiwan had donated NT$ 1 million to the Red Cross to help victims of the recent earthquake in Sichuan.

Equipment and systems from the energy sector not only generate more than one quarter of Taiwan's power capacity but also deploy island-wide power transmission networks. The health care sector leads in quality health care provision in Taiwan through trend-setting innovations.
Albrich joined Siemens as R&D team manager in 1979 and worked his way up to be CEO, serving the company for 29 years. Siemens Limited Taiwan has grown tremendously with Albrich at the helm for the last four years.
The new president and CEO, Weiss, joined Siemens as an intern in 1976 and has occupied positions including executive vice president and member of the management board of Siemens Limited China and senior vice president of corporate strategies for region Asia and Australia. He has served the company for over 30 years.
Weiss will adhere to the highest ethics to generate the highest performances and realize Siemens's vision to build closer partnerships and boost Taiwan's economic development. He expressed his deep gratitude for Albrich's contributions, which have laid solid foundations for further business growth. It is hoped that Weiss can capitalize on Siemens's robust development in Asia and 160 years of corporate experience and continue to make contributions to various business sectors such as industry, energy and health care, building a better Taiwan.
At the end of the party, Weiss asserted that Siemens Limited Taiwan holds to the corporate spirit of "global innovation and local partnerships." Aside from assisting in Taiwan's economic development and industrial upgrade, the company also meets its social responsibilities and to this end has donated NT$1 million to the Taiwan Red Cross to finance relief efforts in Sichuan.
