Cabinet advisor is named as new promoter of trade

TAIPEI -- The Ministry of Economic Affairs said yesterday that Francis Liang (梁國新), an advisor to the Cabinet, has been named the new leader of the country's main trade promotion body.

The 63 year-old Liang, a former deputy economics minister, will succeed Wang Chih-kang (王志剛), chairman of the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA, 外貿協會), according to the ministry's website.
