ECFA economic forum set to kick off in Taipei

TAIPEI -- Entrepreneurs from China, Hong Kong and Taiwan will attend a cross-Taiwan Strait economic forum in Taipei, that will kick off May 28.

It is the fifth economic forum since Taipei and Beijing signed the Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA) in 2010.

Themed “cooperate for innovation to share prosperity,” the forum participants will exchange ideas on how to implement the cooperation and innovation of various industries, and complement and integrate the resources and strengths between China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, to create new economic and trade opportunities in Greater China.

The forum will feature addresses from former Vice President Vincent Siew and former ruling Kuomintang Chairman Wu Poh-hsiung.

There will be two panel discussions in the forum, in which 10 guests from Hong Kong, Taiwan and Zhejiang will be invited to contribute ideas.
