Forex reserves hit record US$421.495 bil. last month

TAIPEI--Taiwan's foreign exchange reserves continued to climb in April to hit a record US$421.495 billion by the end of that month, according to data released by the Central Bank Monday.

That number was an increase of US$2.296 billion from the previous record set at the end of March, the bank said.

The bank attributed the increase to proceeds from investments and the rise in value of reserve currencies like the euro against the U.S. dollar.
